DO'S:

• Have a Guestbook or a Shoutbox for guests to leave feedbacks/comments at about your site
• Have Polls, Forums, or a Shoutbox in your site or any other kind of interaction with guests
• Have at max 15 affiliates. Carefully select your affiliates. Choose quality over quantity.
• Have an e-mail posted somewhere in your site so visitors can contact you
• Build a color scheme, like blue & grey or black & white. Don't use colors that don't blend together like white & yellow or grey & pink
• Join topsites
• Promote your site through e-mail Signatures, Forum Signatures, Guestbook entries, Tagboards, Shoutboxes, Topsites, Webrings, Free-For-All-links, Affiliates and Link Exchanges
• Use thumbnails for huge images. It saves bandwidth and fastens loading time.
• Make sure that all your links work
• Use correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling
• Keep E-mails and links up to date
• Have some sort of a splash, main, index, or portal page
• Be a courteus, nice, and friendly webmaster
• Submit your site to Search Engines
• Install a tracker/hit counter

DONT'S:

• Use too many images in your layout
• Use fonts that aren't available in other computers
• Write contents like this: Hi h0w aRe y0u 2day
• Use slang or shortcuts in writing your content: 2day, dld, gr8t, yo, exp.
• Post personal feelings/emotions in contents: ^_^ , hiya!, cool, like, xd, best game ever!!!
• Use colors that are hard to read such as lime green, bright yellow, or dull gray.
• Have unnecessary pop-ups and ads. If possible, don't have pop-ups at all!
• Steal / Copy content
• If you decide to put on a background music, be sure to have a "pause" / "stop" button because not all people like music while browsing a site
• Force people to vote for you. Example: Awards, Topsites
• Be rude guests and fellow webmasters
• Affiliate with every site you see
• Join every topsite you see
