Bio

Although he's the captain of the Besaid Aurochs Blitzball team, Wakka plans to retire from the sport after this year's tournament so that he can devote himself entirely as Yuna's guardian. His deadly Blitzball is especially useful for shooting down aerial enemies.

In Battle

Bring in Wakka any time you encounter flying creatures. Wakka is the only character who can hit them with great accuracy without casting spells. With his ability to inflict status ailments early in the game, use Wakka against stronger enemies to blind, silence, or put them to sleep.

On the Sphere Grid

Wakka is definitely one of the better attackers of the party, but his Defense and Magic Defense develop more slowly. Wakka will acquire skills that inflict Darkness, Silence, or Sleep on enemies, as well as Black Magic spells that drain MP and HP from enemies. Upon reaching the end of his portion on his Sphere Grid, move him over to Auron's area so that he'll hit harder and his Strength, Defense, and Magic Defense will continue to develop.

Overdrive: Slots

Wakka starts off with Element Reels and acquire his other Overdrives by winning Blitzball games in both league and tournaments. Whenever you use Wakka's element reels Overdrive, slot wheels start spinning. If you match all three wheels, then Wakka will perform an element-based attack against all enemies. When the wheels don't match up, Wakka will perform a random elemental attack against one enemy. A similar concept is employed in his other Overdrives.

Weapon: Blitzballs

Legendary Weapon: World Champion

To acquire Wakka's legendary weapon, World Champion, you must have the Celestial Mirror and talk to the bartender in the Luca Cafe. If she refuses to turn it over, it's because you have been neglecting to play Blitzball!
