Basic Photoshop: Changing Eye Color

This is a very easy tutorial and will only take a few minutes to finish. This tutorial was also made with CS2, if you use any other version, the controls might be different.

Alright, lets start with a picture of the beautiful actress Gong Li.

Open this file in Photoshop and zoom in (ctrl+) untill you have a good view of the right eye. Use the lasso tool (L) and draw a nice circle around her eye. It doesnt have to be perfect, we'll fix that later. The more zoomed in you are, the easier drawing a circle will be.

Keeping the eye outlined, make another layer then change your foreground color to a unique color, in this case i used 049EFF. In 'layer 1' fill the outline you have around the eye with your foreground color (SHIFT+F5).

In the box containing the layers, double click on the 'Layer 1' icon. Change the Blend Mode so that it is 'Overlay'. This will blend the picture and the eye color together. Now take off the outline around the eye and admire your work ^^

Now, its time for the other eye. Once you are comfortably zoomed in over it, do the same as before and use the Lasso tool to outline the eye. Create a new layer and fill the eye from inside of there.

Doing the same as before, double-click on the 'Layer 2' icon inside of the layer box. Switch the blend mode once again to 'Overlay' and remove the outline. Zoom out (ctrl-) and admire Gong Li's new eye color ^^.
